Try this little program it'll tell what key you are using

Deportation...?

PID or Key?

Which is it that is checked? the PID or the key? and what is the difference.

As to the little utility well the number it produced for me is nothing like the key on my CD and is the only one I have ever used with my version of XP....

I think it's really best to wait for SP1 although I have seen nothing yet that convinces me it should be installed at all.

I'm not a regular on these forums but I've been reading this thread and just had to say something.

You're way of thinking is so linear. You honestly think that Microsoft can create something that cannot be broken?

1. Had it occured to you that maybe people would crack the new programs to run on the old systems, therefore by-passing the hardware problem.

2. The best in the business are never in the business. If needs be they will create hardware to combat these problems.

3. IF this goes ahead, the amount of opposition to it will destroy Microsoft. No-one will buy a program like that. They are over-estimating their importance in the industry.

No Matter What You Say, There something on longhorn that is sending the electrical single to the hardware, their are cracks out their that will hack and crack long horn and disable the single or chnage it, look at this they did it to a 6000$ prog 3DSMAX and they had no problems, their is a way to hack it, look at PS and PS2 and XBOX and GAMECUBE man i could go forever. LongerHorn Fans dont worry, their is gunna be a CRACKABLE version out.

It may take some time but it will be done!!!

oh yeah, for you XP users for the Partch, ha, i wouldent be worry, i have SP1 al rdy, and it is crack able if u know how to, with this ver of SP1, its leaked BTW, u have to be a pretty advanced server on how and what to crack, u have to del reg keys reboot several times, but hey, itd worth its.

THEIR will be illeagle issuses with LongHorn, i can see it alrdy, MS is trying to own more of your computer then u own it your self, ha, if u have any more content on your PC they longhorn will change it or del it, umm even better u have to longhorn os in order to talk with others that have longhorn, if u dont have longhron u cant chat, they also try and own the internet, i can tell u their rite now, LongHorn is not gunna go to far with this ****, i mean that they wont make sales and Lindows or Open software is gunna make a big leap if they come out with this cause Open software is more less owning of your computer.

Corrections (This is the moring and woke up)

*****THEIR will be illeagle issuses with LongHorn, i can see it alrdy, MS is trying to own more of your computer then u own it your self, ha, if u have any porn content

when will microsoft learn that no matter how much they do to make there os's safe from us Hackers/Crackers :D we will allways find a way.

Exactly

See on this forum we need to get some hackers and crackers on here, see these ppl worry too much.

so far Black Box is out.
Hacked DTV is out.
3DSMAX is out hacked. cause u need hardware to run it.
MOD chips are out.
ney thing that i know of that has to do with computers has been hacked or cracked. even the phone comapnys are hacked. u can get phone numbers with ezy of ney1, and they say all this poop is secure, hahaha, so secure my ars.

So let me get this straight. Jo Public activates a copy of XP corp, using a key generated by this so called keygen that is apparently floating around.

He installs SP-1 with no problem as the new algorithm only activates when SP-1 is intergrated with a Corp + SP-1 cd.

So aren't people using warez copies just going to upgrade to SP1

Or am i missing something:confused:

Will someone please HELP?

This has already been posted, but since no one responded and I would like a response, I am reposting it.

I hope someone might be able to answer this for me so that I don't have to sweat when installing sp1. I have a legit MSDN key but instead of waiting to come home and install a legit XP, while at school I installed a corporate version with my MSDN key. Obviously I have never activated it and I am just wondering if when I try to install sp1, it will you know, turn my computer into a big white paperweight. I suppose I could install the legit version now that I am at home but I don't want to bother with reinstalling everything and setting up my comp the way I like it. Even if nothing had to be reinstalled, I still don't want to install only to find a BSOD like I had after I installed a new motherboard. Is there a way to go from XP Corp to XP Pro (reg) by doing something within Windows? I am hoping someone might understand this "suprise" a little better than I do. Thanks in advance.

Just a question, on this form under tips and tricks http://www.xp-erience.org/sections.php?op=viewarticle&artid=170 it explains how to change the xp cd key. Now this is for corp versions which as we all know do not require activation. My question is would this method work if you entered a valid XP Pro cd key(that has never been used or activated) and then if necessary activate via the internet. I know several people who have purchased systems with XP Pro installed, but as soon as they got the systems home reformated and are using Win98 or Win2K. Their keys have never been used. (Yes I know Win98, these are older people who don't like change). Anyway any info on this would be appreciated.;)

Per the article they already know all the keys for the warez Corp version since there is only one out there for the sake of argument with the FCK key. Changing the key will do nothing, at all.

Anyway when final SP1 comes out I will install Windows XP inside Connectix Virtual PC 4.3.2 and then apply the final service pack 1 within it too and see the results.

I completley agree with Wolverine.

Microsoft just yack, yack, yack.

Like they did with the XBox saying its uncrackable but now everyone can run unsigned XBEs on it and all sorts of stuff :)

MS chat ****

microsoft and Freestyle

Now whats goign to happen once billy boy trys to take over your home with the New winxp media center edtion?, , whats a matter bill, isent the pc market big enough for ya lol

why you guys worry so much about it. there is no such thing as a perfect software with perfect coding. everything is crack/hackable

oh yeah, one more thing, Lindows baby, mixture of linux and windows in one, still in beta, but will be a killer OS, and its free.

Will Lindows be totally free? I am questioning this because they charge 99 bux to get all the downloads. You can't even download simple games without paying the money. So when will this become free?

...

Lindows is NOT free and will NOT be free. The final version costs $99.
