netscape seem's to slow down my dell laptop. it has a pentium 4 processer.
Netscape and Mozilla ain't the same thing give it a try and find out for yourself.
Moved to Networking, Internet & Intranet: Iceman
earlier versions of both netscape and mozilla did tend to slow things down a tad, but the most recent offerings from mozilla are as fast as IE.
going off thread for a second...Iceman, why the blazes to you need such an enormous sig. (or are you that insecure..!!)
Mozilla runs as fast as IE.
As for making things slower, the only time i've actually noticed it slow everything else down is when viewing a page with some sort of Java applet (such as the chat on this site).
OT: 300x90 is hardly an enormous sig. its about average, same as most others.
welcome back gothic, see you haven't changed much, merry x-mas
Hi ice, i've been around all the time, just not as often!!
and yes, same old belligerent me and a happy new year.
Re: More Details
windows 2000, it happen's as soon as i open netscape. i think it's netscape 4.1
Re: Re: More Details
There you go. Upgrade to Netscape 7 or give mozilla www.mozilla.org a try.
Even better....Take a look at Opera 7 Beta 2.
yes love Opera myself, though I still use 6.05, not a real big beta fan myself
opera 7 beta2 has been very stable for me so far. Is faster than 6.05 also.
I'd use Opera 24/7 if it were compatible with my ISP's email settings.
How can opera not be compatible with e-mail settings ?
SMTP server requires authentication.
Ignore me if im being stupid, but what does Opera have to do with your SMTP server.
Surely thats handled by Outlook/Outlook Express/Whatever mail client you use. ?
Opera has an email client. And I'd actually use it if I could.
