Hi There

Have been getting the following error message with IE6 ( running under XP Home );

Internet Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close. Sorry for the inconvienience.

Well Microsofts code it spews out means absolutly nothing to me, and clicking close zaps the browser.

Does anyone know why this is happening or has any idea on how its fixed?

With regards

David

is there any specific time this happens? like certain pages or java or such? and have you downloaded all the critical updates? you might try going to a command prompt and doing a

sfc /scannow to see if any system files got fubar'ed somehow

IE6 Errors

Hi

Have downloaded all the critical updates etc.

It only happens when i cannot reach a website, ie typing in the url then hitting GO, it then take a bit of time trying to load, then bombs out with the error message.

Hope that explains it a bit clearer.

Regards

David

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?

Impressed you have kept this alive this long EP! So many sites have come and gone. :(
