IE problems + XP problesm. Seeking for your help

I have actually two problems

One
when I give my IE a url that does not exist(like www.yahoooo.com), instead of the regular error page the IE goes in to a site http://lop.com/
this is not the hopepage defult you can change in the internet setting , this is some kind of a worm or some thing, I dont know how to get it out, I tried to re-install and go back to defult setting and also to delete all internet files(temp,cookies etc) I have no idea what to do .

Second,
I have the xp for about 4 months. I have some experience in operating systems and I know with in time the go slower. I have a new computer and I was amazed to see my xp went slower with in only two months, and Im talking about the whole system in general . does anyone have any tips it getting the system speeding up? or is there any program that helps?

go to this thread...and read the whole string, lots of speed ups for ya, then download the zip file that's posted at the end of the string
