IBM MicroDrive 1Gb

Hello,

I have recently moved from an Acer/TravelMate running Windows 98 to a Sony VAIO running XP. My IBM Microdrive 1Gb works very well in my old computer, but when I try to use it on XP, during all reading and writing (to or from the microdrive) my CPU goes to 100% of utilisation. Is there any tweak to improve performance and possibly solve this problem?

Thanks,
Carlos.

Are there any special drivers involved? You could try updating those in that case (if there is a better one).

Well, as a matter of fact, that's exactly what people at IBM replied to me: "Make sure you have the most updated PCMCIA drivers". Looking at the Device Manager, I found that my PCMCIA adapter is "Ricoh R/RL/5C476(II) or Compatible CardBus Controller". So, now I'm trying to find if there's any new driver for this device.
Besides that, IBM tech support said: "You may also need a
card wizard", but I believe this doesn't apply to Windows XP, does it?

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
