i get messages that i have to D/L Java virtual machine

When i get on websites i get a pop up that i have to get the latest

version of Java Virtual Machine. I tried to download it once but it didn't

work for some reason. When i download a program from PCWorld.com it

doesn't work because it says i'm missing a file. It doesn't say which file

most of the time. I didn't find Java Virtual Machine on 'Windows Update'

website.

download teh one from Sun and you should be fine..

any of the programs from PCWorld. it says i'm missing a file. each time it's a different file. sometimes it doesn't tell me which file, but says that it did.

do you have to register with PCWorld 1st to D/L programs?

I went ot pc world to see if I get a latest java pop up too...don't get it

I never get the pop up with ms machine...interesting

anyway, toggle between the java sun and the ms, and see if don't get it with one or the other

right click the start menue, explore all users, set program defaults

try one then the other, and see which is best for you

so far, even though the ms machine hasn't been updated, I haven't had any issue at all with it, annd it's a much better program then the java

i got java through enyo's link.

my only problem now is i can't D/L from PCWorld. it always says i'm missing a file. i had 2 different problems.

I'm not a member of pc world, and a download went fine

tell us a download that did tell you you wree missing a file...maybe I got lucky

maybe this will help

try a download manager like star

the download link should use the download manager.

if it doesn't right click the link that says to click if the download was unsuccessful

go to properties, pull the url, and past that into your down;oad manager

come to think of it, try pasting that into your address bar first
