I know there are programs out there that emulate cd-rom drives and allow you mount images of cd-roms....Alcohol 120%, Daemon Tools, Virtual Drive and so on. Thing is...it seems that some of the games will not run properly if you have one of these programs installed. I know when I got "Call of Duty"...I had Alcohol 120% loaded and after I installed the game and tried to launch it...it got an error message telling me to make sure Disc 1 was in the drive...and it was...and I looked up the error and it was due to Alcohol interferring with the SafeDisc protection system or something. I removed it and the game started up fine. My question is...if I had been using a mounted image of the first cd of COD...would it have worked ok? If not...what good does it do to have the cd emulation programs if ya cant really use them?

I think Daemon tools has an option to emulate safedisk.

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
