    Hai fellow XP loiters !
Who knows the answer to my problem ? Since I upgraded from an ancient 233mhz pentium 1 to the newest AMD xp1700 chipset
There's no isa slot onboard any more.....
My beloved HP scanner is sitting silent for a few months now , and I think it is a shame to sell this nice machine.
Anyone knows which PCI scsi card can be used ????????????????????????
    Help would be great.

Yes, Virginia, there is life after XP

I, too, have a HP 5P both at home and at work, and have the answer to all your wishes.

Get yourself an Adaptec SCSI card (most any card will do). At work I have a generic no-name PCI SCSI card that works fine. At home I have a fairly high end Adaptec card (AIC 7850 PCI SCSI) that virtually configured itself and immediately recognized the scanner when I attached it. No muss, no fuss.

My scanner works just as fast, with the exception that it has to be turned on when I boot up or the computer won't find it. Other than that, no other problems to report. Got my card at Fry's on sale.

    Hope this helps.
