i have 3 partitions. 1 for system only files. 1 for downloads and crap/mp3s. 1 for installed programs.

the system one keeps getting gradually smaller and smaller...why?

have a look in these locations

    C:\System Volume Information

    C:\Documents and Settings\*username*\Local Settings\Temp

ya need to enable view hidden files first in your folder options

    try this

system properties \ system restore \ settings

reduce the amount of diskspace restore can use

this will limit the amount of restore points that can be created

for a quick cleanup of restore points

disk drive properties \ disk cleanup \ more options \ *system restore* \ clean up .... (deletes all but the most recent restore point)
