When I launch Pagemaker 7.0, it takes long time to start. Particulary it stops at Data merge plugin for a while and loads. Is there a way to speed it up? I have Pentium III 780, RAM 394, Nvidia 34MB TNT2 Pro graphics card.

more of a generic convention than specific to pagemaker, but do you need to have the plug-in loaded at startup? if you don't need it (except for perhaps occasionally) then you could probably disable the auto load of the plug in, and load it manually when you need it. If you use it every time you use pagemaker, then you're probably stuck. You could take a look at the data you are merging... is it defragged, can it be compacted, etc.

I dont need Plugins at all. All I do with Pagemaker is type my Ultrasound and MRI Scanning reports. I am a Radiologist by Profession. Can u tell me how to disable plugins?

Maybe someone with Pagemaker exp can help, unfortunately I have no idea. If I am guessing right and it can be done, though, it should be fairly obvious. In Microsoft Excel, for example, clicking on Tools>Add-Ins brings up a dialog box that allows you to choose the add-ins you want to use. My guess is that Pagemaker has some such similar feature. You could look around in the sub-menus, or type plug in or data merge into the help index.

good luck

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
