I'm about to fix up my computer. Is there a guide as to exactly the right way to put thermal compound on the CPU core? Also, what do you use to clean off existing stuff? Do you use rubbing alcohol? If so, how *hard* can you rub? Are you supposed to just dab it? Also, can the alcohol damage anything in the CPU?

Basically, I'm nervous, so any help would be appreciated.

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
