ok here is the question.. my roomate recently hooked up his x-box live account and its driving me nutt slowing my net down. we use a linksys wirless router (wirless diabled) to split a sbc dsl (slow as ****) connection... is there any way i can limit him.. he knows very little about computers and has no access to the router. so.. it wont be hard to conceal this.. im just tired of him on the damn thing 12 hours a day..

i wil be gettting a cable modem in awhile.. and this wont be a prob then.

If your router supports bandwidth limiting, you can limit the bandwidth for his IP address. I'm not sure which models of Linksys support this, but there are a few out there.

Very hard to do this, routers would usually share bandwidth evenly between ip addresses.
