how to know my WinXP is BETA or Full released

    How can I check my Windows XP version is Beta or full released?

    Welcome,
    go to Start - Run type msinfo32.exe , click OK. This opens systeminformations. The version number for the final release should be 5.1.2600. Are there still betas around??

    A big clue would be to look on the box.

    I've seen on some threads people have an "About windows box" that shows there build and which OS is installed similair to that for "about Internet Explorer" does anyone know how to get to this option!!!thx

    I knew there was a quicker way to get the info. Just click on the questionmark in explorer toolbar.
