Hi, Like to know whether it is possible to create disk image for backup?
Incase, if i have to format my OS then i can directly install from backup.

    More Clearly-
    os - xpsp1+some install apps+my setting

If i can backup the whole things as disk image, then i can easily recover my whole things in one shot after format & also much time will be saved.

    thx;- seeetu.

you can either do this is dos, by having two drives connected, or you need a program like norton ghost, or others to ghost the image to cd's or dvd's.

I suggest norton ghost. If you don't have one get a cd re-writer and re-writable disks.

I have an image on a partition named backup of windows drive, and image made to this drive also backing up my downloads drive and the same thing for media drive.

I also created on DvD's a smaller image months ago just incase of HD failure.

    Norton ghost it's mustard.

    Ghost.

Buy last years edition of Norton System Works Pro, save money, make a backup and get a year of AV.
