I installed Nero 7 Ultra Demo, but it won't even recognize if I insert DVD-R 8x 4.7G DVD.
Are you saying that Nero won't recognise that you have a blank dvd in the drive?
What do you mean by 'burn data DVD on CD-RW"?
If the file(s) you have on the dvd are less then 700MB then you can put them on a CD-RW, otherwise it won't fit.
that's right, Nero won't recognize it.
My bad, I want to burn data (size more than 3GB) on DVD and use the CD-RW for that since I don't have DVD-RW.
CD-RW's cant write DVD's, if you can do that then why would there be DVD-RW's ?
all dvd burners are RW compatible. What you need is a DVD-RW disc
You can't burn 3GB's onto a CD-RW disk.
I think, and I could be wrong, he's trying to compress 3GB of stuff onto a CD-RW, which is only 700MB max.
Sorry dude, not possible.
I would upgrade to a DVD-RW, drives are real cheap these days.
Lite-On is great, and they make OEM's for a lot of bigger manufacturers -
From what i understood he is trying to use his cd writer to burn a DVD. It cant be done and you need to get yourself a dvd writer!
You can't burn a DVD in a CD-RW as said above.
You can put 3 GB of data onto CD-RW disks. It will take 5 CD's.
Use WINZIP to creat an archive of the data and tell WINZIP to spread it across (5) 650 MB files. Then burn the files to the 5 CD's. You will need to swap CD's in and out to read the data and if one disk is damaged the entire archive is probably lost.
Nero Ultra has a backup utility that will allow you to do the same thing (burn across multiple CDs) but I have never used it.
