I learned that the way to do it is to first edit the file C:\Windows\inf\sysoc.inf. Open it with notepad, click edit, replace...type "hide" (without quotes), click replace and then save the change. Windows Messenger will now show up in Add/Remove Windows components.

Replace it with nothing, in other words delete the word 'hide', but make sure the commas ,, remain there.

if you use that way to delete it, outlook will be ****ing slow...
Better use the script cause it will fix that problem.

    the best way

the simple way to do it is in the run box type
    "RunDll32 advpack.dll,launchINFSection%windir%\INF\msmsgs.inf,BLC.remove"
    this will remove windows messenger.
Don't forget to take out the "quote marks"
