I installed XP Pro and now even after I've logged on to my ISP, if I close the browser I have to re logon. Is there a way to keep the connection? It didn't do this in W98.
thanks,
bill g
Internet Explorer -> Tools -> Internet Options -> Connections -> (select your ISP) -> Settings -> Advanced -> untick the Disconnect when connection may no longer be needed.
It's Alcatel usb DSL. It's odd too that if I don't start Internet Explorer first, other net apps, like Mozilla, won't be able to connect. When I start IE the dsl logon box pops up and it connects, but with Mozilla or Xnews I just get "connection not available" even though the dsl "frog" has two green lights.
thanks,

Hey folks, thanks for the suggestions. I think ultimately it was hinky modem drivers. I installed a beta version tonite and it's been online for several hours without a drop.

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
