How Do I Disable The Auto Install In Xp

I AM TRYING TOO INSTALL MY SOUND CARD AND XP IS GETTING IN THE WAS, sorry for caps
it is installing its drivers for it and they are the wrong ones, and it wont look the cd, i need help

After its done installing the drivers, get into Device Manager, and update your drivers to the ones from the CD.

if all else fails make sure it on the HCL also... found here MS HCL

Make sure that, everytime Xp asks, you choose to search and install them yourself !!! (not by XP or automatic)

And ignore remarks about your driver not being certified by MS
