Hibernate problem

I cannot enter my pc into a standby or hibernate mode. It keeps freezing all the time. When i try to enter it to hibernate from the start menu it goes into hibernate mode, the monitor gets black (everything normal this far), but when i move my mouse it is starting up again but it is only working and working and reading and reading from my disk. Nothing happens... The only thing that works when you came this far is the powe off button on the back or front of the computer. Nothing else.

Anyone with the same problem or someone with a solution?

Thanks!

I'll give you the solution - though it's not the one you are looking for. Hibernate and standby use resources and are not terribly efficient. I'd suggest just having the HD & display power down after a specified period of time. Much better for your system.

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
