Help Needed: What is this?

I have never been that good at music, but one of my friends got very good a mixing his own tunes, not any of this remix stuff. He did it all himself using his own beats and stuff, well good tunes as well.
 
With actual equipment or a proggie?

combination of both some computer program for after polishing, but most of it was done with synths.
 
Thats a good song.... I probably coulda figured it out after a bit if these super fast dudes wouldn't butt in all the time!!! :D
