HELP, friend erased system file, cannot boot now

    Ok, well, a friend of mine got a virus.. i couldnt get the name of the virus... he deleted the INFECTED file.. the file is ntosklrn1.exe
    (win2000)
    now when his system boots,theres an error saying the missing file.. and he cant EVEN boot in safe mode.. same error...what do I do? thx group

    insert your xp cd boot from cd and use the

    expand command to place a copy in the C:\Windows\system32

    on the cd its located in the i386 folder


    or use copy and copy the file from i386
