is there any way to resize the windows xp boot partition to install linux on it?
I dont really feel like a format->fresh install cuz I just got that laptop... :/

Partition Magic should do it.
(Go study for your midterms ;))

Done with my midterm.
Seriously, thinking that floating number's mantissa is somehow decimal is really bad on an exam.
Anyway, whenever I try the Partition magic 8.0 on it, (I've tried sizes from 8G~18G) it always gives me error 983, and it's not one of the listed error messages... :/

Anyone? :)

sounds like something is in the way. try defragging the drive (Get Windows to move it all to the beginning of the drive), then clean out the pagefile, and defrag again. Then upon shutdown, remove the pagefile and try again with partition magic.

thanks for the input. But I've already tried defragging (windows defrag) and windows checkdisk.. :/

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
