Hardware Malfunction!!!

Lee - I think you missed that this was a thread resurrection! I highly doubt Desert Pie is still with us, unless he resubscribed as Royceston, since the last Desert Pie post was 2002 I think....

So while your advice in a general sense holds good, the specific parts are unlikely to help Royceston (and if you are there Royceston why not post back your mobo and other details, and see if you cannot update your BIOS etc as advised)

Hi

I am not desert pie. I am secondary student and do not know much about computer.

Also, a dumb question but why dont you consider buying a newer PC, it doesnt have to be BRAND new either, there are many sub $500 machines out there that will VASTLY out perform your current machine....

just an idea...

EDIT: disreagrd.. how did this get resurected??

:suprised: ooops, check dates.

royceston - have you changed anything recently? New hardware, new software?

Whether you have changed anything or not try doing a system restore to a point before the problem started.

mlarkid - This may be a surprise to you but to some people $500 is real money. That's 200 gallons of gasoline, 10 weeks worth of groceries, a months rent, 2 semesters worth of text books, etc.

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
