Hard Drive Backup

I have recently purchased and installed a second hard drive for my pc. I would like to backup my original hard drive (including all systems software) to the new one, so that if the original drive goes down, I will be able restore everything, or work from the second drive.

My computer is running WindowsXP Home Edition and does not appear to have a dos type backup. I have Nero burning facility, but this will only allow me to backup to discs (about 60 of them)

Can anyone advise ?

Hi deepdaleuk. If you want an entire HD image, then use either Norton Ghost or Image Drive. Both are pretty decent and will allow you to back up your current HD in it's entirety.

XP has a 'Files and Settings Transfer Wizard' that you can use to save your settings and your 'My Docs' folder but not your installed apps or the OS.

Have a nice day! :)

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
