Every now and again adium informs me that it would like to install growl, i have checked it out and it looks ok but is there any real use to it? Does anyone here use it and find it a useful app?

If you like constant updates on what programs are doing then yes, I've disabled it as I really don't want it popping up ever few minutes.

I use it, I like it a lot. You can customize notifications in a variety of ways. Install it, check it out, it doesn't hurt anything and you can uninstall easily.

Don't think I could use a Mac without Growl these days, very customisable, and you can choose what apps alert you and what for. You can even send the notifications to another mac on your network.
