I was wondering if anyone could help me out with Start Menu feature in Windows XP.
I want to know how to customize icons on the left side of the start men (the part with frequently used programs).
How can I add and remove programs at my free will from there?
    Thank you

    thank you for your reply,
my problem is actually more about "unpinning" stuff from the menu. I was hoping that I could find something like in previouse versinos of Windows where going through explorer I could locate a folder in my personal setting that holds all icons for the start menu.
I dont know if the same can be done in XP, if so let me know
    thank you again

If you want to delete an item from the list just right click on it and remove it from the list. If you want to change the icon then right click on it and go to Properties and change the Icon from there.

Open the program, then when it's in the recent open part, drag the icon to the other section.

I've found the easiest way to manage the program list is to just use the old style menu. Then you pretty much have complete control over what goes on there.

I should have read a little more carefully. Open Windows explorer> Documents and Settings> *User Name* AND All Users> Start Menu.
