ati has generally had very good tv in/out... its just better @ multimedia... thats part of the identity of the company's products...
you can check out a few products tv -in/out's on friends machines if you have access and see which performs well...
my current ViVo is fabulous... but I generally watch everything on my second monitor if not multi-tasking...
