"coming to raw performance... the card itself is likely to beat the R9700pro in raw benches with no AA and FSAA turned on... but when AA and FSAA are turned on (and believe me when I tell you a LARGE number of owners of the r9700pro play @ 1024x768 or 1280x1024 with reasonable levels of AA and FSAA turned on)... there is likely to be a different scenario... "I would doubt this would be the case to be honest, simply because i cannot see how they could justify the price. Anyone who is going to buy this card isnt gonna spend all that money on a card which is matched (or closely matched) by one that is a couple of hundred quid cheaper. For 450 buck (UK) i would want a card that whoops ATI's ass. "

Hehe, looks like my suspicions were correct - compared to what we were expecting the FX is a bag of shi**.
I love my Ti4400, never had a problem with it, can still play games maxed out on it and i can overclock the ass off it, but if I was buying a card, and i had to buy now - today - i would get a 9700 Pro, and thats exactly what a friend of mine did today after we had a chat and read the FX reviews - he was gonna get the FX, but why bother, saved himself 150 notes and got himself a card which in all honesty looks nearly as good, and is available right now, besides even if it was available the FX is CERTAINLY not 150 quid better than the 9700.
And look, theres more, 2 months down the line, when production ramps up on the FX and they finally start arriving in decent numbers - the 9900 will arrive - oh dear - Nvidia will be catching up again.
Oh - and one more thing...
Nice one Sazar - was it your Biased view or your informed opinion - either way you were right mate.
Lets hope i never have to say that again....

The verdict seems to be out, it doesn't meet up to all the hype the PR department was sending out, and it's fan is really really loud, I think I read 58 dB!! that's loud. I think their PR department blows as much hot air as their cooler does.
The ATi R350 should put the final nail in coffin, it's due out in March/April.
nVidia makes alot of money of the lower end business (MX series cards) so it should be fine, which is good, the video card wars is good for inginuity and prices.
