    These files just showed up, can i delete them or does windows need them??

    Delete them...i've had some before. I think it is something to do with ScanDisk.

    Im NOT 100% sure. If i remember rightly i did delete mine.

    Inside these folders there are files with the extension .chk. These are found file fragments saved by Chkdsk. Chances to recover anything from these files are not so good and require expert knowledge. So it should be safe to delete them.

    Ok thanks, i deleted them and there isnt no problems so far!:)

    While lost chain files are perfectly safe to delete, for future reference you might want to do the following. When you don't know if a file is safe to delete, just move it to another folder for a few days and see if there are any adverse effects. If not, you can then detete it.
