Formatting hard drive?

I'm looking at reinstalling the OS on my hard drive, and was wondering how I would go about erasing, or formatting the data currently on it.

Boot from your Windows XP CD.
During the setup process, you should be given the option to do a clean install by formatting the drive. Once the formatting process is complete, you can install XP on the drive.

Thanks for the response. I'll be using the system recovery cd's, so hopefully there wont be any conflicts.

You're welcome. The process should be the same with OEM CDs.
