As you may have read another threads i have two laptops on a MS Home network with ICS for my broadband.

The ICS woks perfectly WITHOUT Zone Alarm Pro but crashes after 30 mins to an hour with Zone Alarm Pro.

I would like to try another firewall to see if there is an improvement.

    Any suggestions and links.

    many thanks

BlackICE; Sygate personal firewall. Both work really good for me.

Even simpler. Use xp's own firewall.

XP' firewall is as good as any of these software firewalls.

run spybot, run adaware, and you are smoother, faster, just as secure as using any of these programs

Sygate Pro is what I use - Xp's own firewall lacks things .. Zone Alarm is pure crap, it always has been always will be. Or if you have a network why don't you use the firewall in the router ??

Outpost firewall blocks incoming and outgoing with a easy to use rule set!
Less on Ram then the others. But XP's firewall does the job but you do need to check system for trojans and what not.

Less on Ram then the others. It also has ad blocking content watch checks the dns cache, active content, and all file attachments. But XP's firewall does the job but you do need to check system for trojans and what not.

It appears that choosing the best firewall is as varied as choosing the best food. Anyway thanks for all the possibilities.

    I will investigate at leisure.

Another good one is Kerio - It works really well and is rated quite high.
