Well in PSP 7 I would use the "Eye Droper" on the background. That way the B/G color is the primary color. Then I would use the "Fill" to fill the "M" and since the background is transparent... well, there ya go.
Just double check that the B/G is still transparent. In PSP 7 I would go to "Color" in the "Tool Bar" then "View Palette Transparency". then save it as something other than what it was.
