Since last week I have problems - only after installing/upgradingw software -
while shutting sown the pc.
each of the screen :
- closing network connections
- saving your settings
- closing down
stays on for 1-2 minutes before going to next screen..
usually my whole shutdown procces takes 20 Sec.
if I shutdown - without any update - the shutdown process is the above
20 Sec .

Event viwer log shows "
ERROR : NetDDE
INITIALIZATION OF NDDENB32.dll failed

MS Help & Support centre does't have anything on this event

Thanks in advance for any help

Do a disk cleanup and then disk defrag. Defragging your hard drive keeps it running optimal and has been known to speed up startup and shutdown.

Thanks for the input .
I found the reason for the problem & managed to correct the situation :
The Service " NETWORK DDE " was set ( dont know how/why ) to start
AUTOMATICALY .
By turning the starting mode to MANUAL the problem vanished ...

Can somebody provide an explanation ??
Thanks

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
