A few times I needed to change the name of a file to be able to open it. I always get the warning: may change the contents or damage them or something alike. So far I damaged not a thing, (.NFO to .TXT for instance, or JPEG/PIF) but how do you know when the pc talks serious business?

don't worry, changing extensions won't damage your files.

They just won't work & then you rename it back.
btw if you highlight the nfo file hold shift & right click it you will get the open with menu. Choose 'always open with notepad'.

...Quick on the wagglin' finger, these Microsoft boys, right?

.nfo ...hmmmm

remember boys and girls always read the .nfo :)

.nfo to .txt is ok, but you cannot change .exe to .jpg ..etc without heavily modifying the registry or else it will corrupt the .exe

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
