Erase a dvdrw dual layer?

    The damn dvd just spins and makes a weird noise in my drive! Ive tried 4 different dvdrw's and nothing...the computer doesn't even show its there...any ideas?

    Have you tried burning a different DVD-RW disk of a different brand? Does
    your burner support DVD-RW? Have you tried burning a DVD-RW of the same brand?

    If the answer is yes to all of the above, and you received no issues with
    the above, you have a bad disk

    The update was good, but the drive still doesn't read the dvd's....

    Apparently since im booting in AHCI mode those features only work in IDE mode, but when u change my bios settings i get the bsod...ideas?

    the drive is solid, i read more into it, its AHCI setting in my bios, but when i go to IDE for SATA devices, upon boot i get BSOD...anyone know how to fix this issue?

    Seriously, often times the only reliable fix is to reinstall the OS.
