DVD Burner

I am thinking of buying a dvd burner with 12x or more reading capability, I was thinking of TDK's indidvd does anybody has those and are there any other better dvd burner than that.

well besides reading, how fast of burning?
i just got the a-04 with 4x firmware upgrade with 4x disc, 15minutes for a dvd is nice and reads @ 32 and burns @ 16.. prolly best burner out of the 3 in the network. places like www.meritline.com has it for cheap.. only prob with theirs it was oem, so only this drive came nothing else like info on it but i would suggest it.

get the Sony DRU500A its the first writer that writes both dvd standards which a very big plus! shouldnt really matter how fast it reads but thats up to u.

Plextor PX-504A

Get the new Plextor PX-504A instead.

It does -R(W) and +R(W) like the Sony, only faster. Also has 12x DVD read. Also, the Sony is in constraint so getting one is difficult.

Actually, you're wrong about the Plextor. It's a DVD+RW.
