download speed sinks

in several versions of windows, download speed decreases with time. different hardware, same symptoms. right now, start at about 70 KBytes/seconds and it progressively slows down ending up on a large download at around 15-20 KBytes/second. is there a buffer i'm filling too quickly or is too small?

this happens to me sometimes too, but not to that extreme.. i think it has to do with who your d/l from, and how many ppl are d/l the same file at the same time..

maybe im wrong though.

Yes, the speed would depend on server traffic mainly.
