    What is better>

    1/ Use DMA mode?

    or

2/ Use the Intel Acceleration program & lose the option for DMA?

What program will tell me what is better for my system?

You don't lose the option, you can view it though IAA. Without it, most chipsets will only run at DMA mode 2, if I remember correctly, with it you can get DMA mode 5. By all means install it.

So where it says 'current tranfer mode - UDMA-5'. That's it? Nothing to do or worry about?
