what is the different between an onboard sound and a sound card? (excluded quality)...... :)

i use a normal integrated sound chip and im happy with it. Dont need no fancy sound from my pc and a extra card will make the clutter in the case even worse.

I have an nVidia SoundForce or soundstorm whatever its called that comes with nForce2 mobos, but I dont use it simply because I already had a SB Audigy and I am not going to chuck that out after what I paid for it. :p

why get a decent sound card? hardware acceleration! if you play games, EAX/EAX2 is damn cool. the nforce2 MCP supports it too, though.

Unless you plan to record music using your PC an onboard soundcard is just fine.
I personally have bad experiences with onboard sound cards and video, it tends to break faster (at least for me).

Take a professional PL stereo cable (not the cheap once, the better more expensive once) , connect it to a decent amplifier and spread some speakers around the room.

Here your all hardware accelerated.

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
