Hi...When I go into the event viewer I see a lot of errors under the source name of DCOM. Some of the errors are connected to the netman and winmgmt services. These DCOM errors are very annoying as they always appear in the event viewer after every boot up. I can't seem to get rid of them. Does anyone know what DCOM means and how I get rid of the error messages?

Many thanks from Colin.

They are common and benign. usually caused by disabling COM+ which is a good thing. COM+ is another one of M$ attempts at making windows even more insecure.

I get this error
DCOM got error "The service cannot be started, either because it is disabled or because it has no enabled devices associated with it. " attempting to start the service MDM with arguments "" in order to run the server:

how did you fix it ?

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
