data execution prevention

Discussion in 'Windows Desktop Systems' started by FishBoy, Mar 17, 2005.

  1. have you ever tried disabling that option, if you go to system properties>advanced>preformance setting>data execution prevention and disable it, i tried that because each time i opened my video folder i get the crash window and to close explorer so i disabled it and must say that didn't help at all i get another message now with close explorer button on it, so now i know that i have 2 choices either have windows close my explorer or have it close it anyway.... could that be fixed?

You don't need hardware support, Windows can do it in software.

It is very limited in what it does and does cause problems with some software.
    So it gets disabled.

Yes, I very well agree. The possitive effects are a bit limited anyway. :)
