Sounds like it should go into the Customising section... I'll let the moderator decide. :)

Anyway, one thing is really cheesing me off and that's the default views for folders. I'm not sure if it's just me or whether others experience the same thing. Sometimes, when I change a picture folder to thumbnail view for a quick peek at the contents and then change it back to Icon view, ALL my other folders switch to thumbnail view.... even in MY Computer. I find it really frustrating to have to go into each folder to change the viewing mode back to 'Icon'. I know I could go into properties and select 'Apply to subfolders', but after many tries, it's not doing what it's supposed to do.

Just wondering if anyone knows of any registry keys that I could use to force ALL folders to remain in Icon mode permanently.

Do you have "Remember each folder's view settings" checked?

Control Panel (Classic View)
Folder Options
View (Tab)

What I would recommend is to reset all folders, and then set back to icon view. This will clear out any settings that may be stray, so they are the way you want them.....

To do so, open my computer, click Tools Menu, Folder Options. On the View Tab, click Reset all Folders. Click OK until the dialog is closed. Then, set the folder to the Icon View. Go Back into Folder options, view tab, click Apply to All Folders. Then go to the folder you want specifically to be thumbnail, and change it's view to that mode.

That should work, but I am still digging for the registry values as well, stay tuned :)

EDIT: And just my .02, I don't believe this should go in the customisation section, as it is a Desktop Support Question :)

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
