For some reason I'm no longer able to use ctrl alt delete to get the task manager thing up. Any ideas what's going on?

    cheers,

umm, i dont know why you can't do that, but another way to get to Taask Manager is by pressing Ctrl+Shift+Esc

    Hope this helps

You can also access the task manager by right clicking on the taskbar and selecting "Task Manager."

    Quite simple.

    Disappearing Task Manager

ctrl alt delete doesn't work, ctrl shift esc doesn't work. I had the virus and removed it, right clicking on the task bar doesn't bring it up....arrrrrrrrrgh! It's obviously to do with that worm thing, but now it's gone does anyone how I can get my task bar back?
    Cheers
    Elma

What worm? Instructions for complete removal/restoration can probably be found at your anti-virus website.

Reformat. It's the only way to completely clean your system of that worm.

the task manager and CTRL+ALT+DELETE have to do with Explorer.exe
ask your friend to send you a copy of Explorer.exe and load it up to your c:\winnt\

also try going to the command line and doing an SFC /scannow that will fix any system files that got altered.

I've yet to try the explorer replacement, so apart from that none of the other tips have worked. Thanks to everyone so far. Apart from wiping my hard drive, I'm not doing that.
Any one else got anything worth trying??
