creating a cd image file?

how do i make a copy of a whole cd to my hard drive so i can also add a file and burn it with the file and the cd image and what programs do i use to do this?

its a MS tool think - right click the burner drive and select image..

Well, you can add files if you haven't already used up all the CD-R space by adding on another layer. I use Nero to do this.
