Jewelzz, you crack me up, and made my day, thanx

coolmon weather script + more info can be found here:

http://daisyman.arsware.org/coolinfo/tips.html

under the winamp tip..

fairly basic... you firstly download or copy paste the weather script and save it as a .vbs

only things you need to modify in it is your postcode... so that it gets your areas information

http://www.weather.com/weather/local/77840 <-- something like that

http://www.weather.com <-- get it now..

then you need to make a place for it to save the information too... your coolmon folder...

then finally if you want it to display things in metric/imperial format... all that stuff is near the top of the script..

then you need to schedule the script to run every so often... say 15 mins... it tells you how to near the after the script... on the website...

then all you do is go into coolmon "Display Items" and copy paste this:

<NAME=FILEDATA FORMAT="<ENTER THE FULL PATH TO WHERE THE SCRIPT DUMPS THE INFORMATION TOO HERE>">

pretty basic :)

Thanks MdSalih, I already cleared the problem, it was a script error in the code itself.

It would appear that weather.com left out some information needed by that script, it only lasted a couple hours, and everything is back to normal.

:)

Weather Script

FYI: I had the same problem, and never knew how nor had the motivation to try fix it.

I now use Samurize ;) and I am happier.

I'm having that problem

What is the fix for the script ? Where can I find it ?

What's happened is weather.com has changed their format, so the script for coolmon no longer works, until somebody posts a fix. weather.com is trying to get people to use their own desktop program.

Thanks for Iceman38 for pointing out the latest weather.vbs script. This new VBS now includes the 10 day outlook and percip percentage. All credit goes to SRS.

Simply change the URL and path to the txt file within the first few lines of the VBS script. Everything else is the same.

okay, in depth directions to solve CoolMon weather worries.

- Download the new weather.vbs (weather.zip) above and extract it to the directory you want to run the script out of.
- Change the following fields: const conURLSrc (to your zip code URL) and outFile (to the location of the weather.txt on your HDD)

Here's what mine looks like:

const conURLSrc = "http://www.weather.com/weather/local/USNY0011"
const outFile = "C:\Program Files\madmatt\Active Desktop\weather.txt"

Then do one of the following:

run C:\WINDOWS\system32\wscript.exe "C:\PATH_TO\weather.vbs"

OR

setup the above path using task scheduler.

Any other questions can be posted here.

Further further update:

srs has updated the script once again at 12:15 today
this fixes a lot of stuff, I will try to keep everybody informed.

u can get it here coolmon weather

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
