Connection dies after 3 or 4 minutes

hi,
my dial up connection dies after 3-4 minutes after i connected.. everything stops and non-responding... it starts again when i ping my connection with a program called Befaster.. im using a usb modem.. what should do i do for a good connection? thanx

Make sure that you got the latest drivers for the USB modem -
Also put in a line fault with your telephone company (usually a free service) to come out and check the quality of the line.
If all else fails - get rid of the USB modem and use a good internal modem (external is a little more expencive).
USB modems use in built software that is not as stable as Hardware modems - they are more likelly to drop off if the line quality changes even slightly.
Go for an internal modem with Motorolla chip set - I have found them really good and very cheap.

Try a different ISP.
