Computer Management MMC Problems

Anyone seen this error before:

I get it when I attempt to open computer management (right click on my computer and select manage). Anyone got any suggestion of how to fix it?

does the compmgmt.msc file actually exists in the system32 directory?

Yes, and the rights to it are perfectly fine for me to be able to access it.

Can you open mmc from run and add the comp management snap in.

By "rights" is that the NTFS permissions your referring to?

Could be corrupt? Try pulling it off the cd and replacing it?

Yes I can create a seperate MMC snap-in and add all the componants fine.

Yes I was looking @ the NTFS permissons.

Already tried tried replacing the file, same problem.

For future reference and for anyone who gets this same problem I solved this by firstly copying the compmgmt.msc file elsewhere, then creating an mmc console and saving it as compmgmt.msc. After this I simply copied the orginail compmgmt.msc file back and it worked.

BTW I think that using the MFT Defragmenter on Diskeeper killed this file.
