Alright.
My girlfriend upgraded to XP Home from ME recently. Long story short, her Compaq IJ750 printer doesn't want to work well with XP.
She's re-installed the software that came with the printer, and sometimes she will get a system tray icon, but sometimes she won't, so she can't check the ink levels. However, if she GETS a tray icon, the printer won't print.
When the printer DOES want to work, it works veeeeery slowly, and seems to be eating resources from her computer.
Compaq's not being very helpful here. They basically said, "Nope, it isn't working. It'll never work, sorry." No new drivers or anything will be coming out for it.
She has all latest Windows updates and whatnot.
Any help is GREATLY appreciated, as she isn't too keen on buying a new printer just so it'll work the way she wants it to.
