When Windows XP is running my burner keeps trying to read when there is nothing in the drive. So then it keeps freezing up when this is going on...

Any idea what to do? I tried new drivers... right now I have the case open and the stinker unplugged!

I had an old 16x drive with the same problem...it wouldn't work with any of my systems...hehe I got annoyed and tossed the bugger out my window.

It could be the burner itself. Try it in another rig & see if the problem is still there.

Yep...sounds like either a service or new burner time. :(
