Pfft, Mopar 440 big blocks, or 572. Those sound amazing, that exhaust just destroys the whole BMV image.

Nah its an M5. 4-door saloon with an electronically limited V10 so that it only does 207Mph - that exhaust just makes it sounds like it too :)

that street vette has racing cams and as far as I'm concerned the sound is far too rough at idle, the new mustangs have an incredible exhaust note for v8, for overall sound I love the maserati , not a v8 though but sweet sound without being intrusive

most car enthusiasts think the king of exhaust is the Ferrari, I personally think it's too whiney

I'm with you on the benz, I love the throaty intake of a benz myself

  5. See, I love the lumpy idle and the sound like it's about to cut out. That to me is how a V8 should sound. I don't like the refined smoothness of the modern ones.
Still better than a pissy 4cyl, don't get me wrong, but it's not quite the same.

With you on the 'Raris, they sound like enormous sewing machines.

the problem with racing cams is the engine is terribly inefficient at idle, this translates into hardly any torque and it becomes tough to power out your rear end with good control. you're gonna be riding the clutch plenty

now with variable cams the problem is solved, you can have best efficiency through the rpm range

I personally don't care for a gurgle either but I know most racing enthusiasts love it

  7. That's why there's 8000rpm, though Vtec is just horrible.

  9. Would probably be awesome if the camera audio quality was better.

Friend of mine has a 68 Valiant pushing around 450bhp, that sounds nice too.

    uh the M5 is V10, not V8 :)

I'll have a watch of the other videos when I get back to scotland, having an impromptu visit with the family now :)

  11. I know, but there are very few other V10s on the market to compare it to. And it just sounds whiny. V8s are much better.
